Thursday : Surabaya - Tosari
13.00 Departure in the beginning of the afternoon from Surabaya toward Bromo mountain. On the way stop at Pasuruan, to visit the traditional and fishing harbour and then on to Tosari. Night at Bromo Cottages
Friday : Bromo – Banyuwangi
03.00 Early wake-up call. Leave the hotel for Cemoro Lawang, from where by crossing the calderas, to get to the feet of mount Bromo and then on horse-back or simply walk climbing up the track. The spectacular chain of the volcanoes (Bromo, Batok and Semeru) is unveiling itself in a magnificent view. Bromo Crater is one of the multitudes of active craters throughout the island of Java. The observation may take at leisure before driving back to the hotel for breakfast. Lunch at local restaurant on the way.
Departure to Banyuwangi, the city located in the most eastern tip of Java island, to arrive by the end of afternoon. Proceed to Ijen Resort and Villas, your luxurious accommodation, perched at the edge of the rainforest in the foothills of the volcanoes. Overnight in mountain tranquility.
Saturday : Ijen Resort – Ijen Crater - Denpasar
05.30. After an early wake-up call and breakfast, four wheel drive vehicles carries you through the rural villages, coffee and clove plantations and then into one of Java’s last rainforests. Humidity, wildlife, giant ferns and big trees cover the slope of the mountain. From the Park Ranger’s post starts the 90 minute hike to Ijen Crater. The stunning view is unveiled at 2883 meters altitude. The lake eerie color and smoke wafting from bright yellow sulfur deposits create the landscape both desolate, barren and vibrantly alive. Watching miners descend into the crater and re-emerge carrying up to 80 kilos of ore on bamboo basket along the treacherous path. Afterward walk back down the mountain. Return to hotel for a rest or a plunge in the pool, before leaving for ferry to Bali. Arrive at your hotel in the early evening.
Included : Transportation in a Bus, seat in coach. Two nights accommodation, based on Twin Sharing Room, at Bromo Cottages and Ijen Resort and Villas, with breakfast. Tour to Bromo Crater and Ijen Crater with entrance fees. English speaking guide along the trip from Surabaya to Denpasar – Bali. One lunch at second day (Friday)
Not included : Dinner and lunch on Saturday, and personal expenses. Horse-riding in Bromo mountain.
