SUKUH AND CETO
Departure in the morning toward Karanganyar region. Two sites of interesting past are located in this area. The temple of Ceto, built on top of a hill amid the tea plantation and the Candi Sukuh, a monument with uncommon megalithic form dated from some time in the XV century. Both temples are very beautiful, especially the Candi Sukuh which presents very rich and refined bas-reliefs decoration.
Both temple are remaining monument of declining Hindu religion in Java during the period where Islamism started to take hold the region.
Back to Solo for a short city tour, the Batik industry and the palace of Mangkuneragan (Closed at 14.00)
